This amigurumi airplane is our first stuffed toy that isn't an animal (at least, we hope it's not an animal).
We started making them at the request of mothers of little boys. In a nutshell - whatever they bought from Hooked and Loopy was going to turn into a projectile. In other words - the kid was going to throw it as hard and long as he could. And pitching an airplane seemed less horrific than pitching a bunny.
This airplane is about 4 inches from wing to wing - a smaller version of our regular airplane - and as you can see, you can customize this in whatever three colors you like.
We agree. And the added bonus is, the airplane isn't going to damage whatever it hits (unless your kid has an arm worthy of Major League Baseball). It's yarn and stuffing, after all - it's not breakable (and dangerous) plastic.
About the Yarn: This toy is made from 100% cotton yarn.
About the Stuffing: I use a premium polyester fiberfill that is washable and great at keeping the animal’s shape. It doesn’t bunch like cotton or wool can. It’s also non-allergenic and super squishy and cuddly inside my animals!
Can I Wash the Creatures? YES! Put them right in the washing machine. Animals with safety eyes will do better on a gentle cycle. I have also put my creatures through the dryer which works well too, or you can choose to air dry them.
